
Pahiyas Festival 2012

Pahiyas Festival is an annual festivity held every 15th of May in Lucban, Quezon in honour of the patron saint of farmers, St. Isidore the Labourer. Fruits, vegetables, and agriculltural products are used as decorative pieces that you will see in each houses. Kiping or the rice made decoration is the symbol of Pahiyas Festival, which it can be eaten afterwards. In the streets, you’ll see various products such as slippers, hats, and food even like pansit habhab. The festivity ends with the procession of higantes, carabao carts carrying a countless of local agricultural products, and Parikitan (a parade of beautiful designs made by assortment of local products worn by lovely ladies with their escorts). People from different places rove the city to see Lucban’s creativity through its ornamental houses.
